To enhance the ability of the experienced social worker to provide psychosocial support to persons with bleeding disorders in a family-centered care environment using peer-reviewed literature, patient case studies, group discussion, and professional networking. The content level of this activity is advanced.

Target Audience
This activity is designed for social workers and other psychosocial professionals who currently are and have been caring for persons with bleeding disorders in the federally recognized U.S. Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) network for at least two (2) years and wish to expand clinical decision-making, evaluation, and assessment skills beyond the level of Basic Partners Program for Clinical Staff.?
Continuing Education
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by University of Nebraska Medical Center and Partners in Bleeding Disorders Education Program. University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, University of Nebraska Medical Center is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.
ASWB ACE credits will be offered.
Eligibility Criteria
To attend this activity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be employed at a U.S. federally recognized HTC as a social worker and/or other psychosocial professional for at least two (2) years.
- Obtain approval to attend from Regional Administrator via automated process upon submission of application.
- Apply for this program by completing the Application Form.
Cost and Travel Information
- There is no registration fee to attend a Partners Program.
- Once registered, you will be contacted at least 4 weeks before the program with logistical details, including air and ground transportation and hotel information. All registrants are encouraged to read the Partners Travel Policy to understand costs that are covered and costs that you may incur.
- Partners in Bleeding Disorders Education Program is supported by an independent medical education grant(s). Travel and lodging for program participants are made possible by an at-will contribution from the Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center.
