To enable the learner to expand upon the basic hemophilia management knowledge base including pharmacological treatments, using current literature and best practice review, case study analysis, professional networking, and methods designed to raise care quality for persons with hemophilia treated within the federally recognized U.S. hemophilia treatment center network

Upon completion of this learning activity, you will be able to:

• Discuss considerations, controversies, and resources in the management of hemophilia in women
• Characterize inhibitor development, risk factors, and treatment methods in different types of hemophilia
• Apply clinical decision-making in individualized prophylactic therapy of persons with hemophilia
• Review FVIII immune tolerance regimens and expected outcomes for persons with hemophilia with FVIII inhibitors
• Survey the rapidly evolving landscape of hemophilia treatment options
• Assess orthopedic challenges and interventions for individuals with hemophilia

Hemophilia treatment center nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists who have treated persons with hemophilia for at least 2 years.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by University of Nebraska Medical Center and Partners in Bleeding Disorders Education Program. The University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

To attend this program, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be employed at a U.S. federally funded HTC as a nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or similar role for at least 2 years.
• Obtain approval to attend from Regional Coordinator via automated process upon submission of application.

There is no registration fee to attend Advanced Nursing Topics I.

The Partners in Bleeding Disorders Education Program: Advanced Nursing Topics I is supported by an educational grant from Genentech, a member of the Roche Group. Travel and lodging for program participants are made possible by an at-will contribution from the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center.

Once registered, you will be contacted approximately 4 weeks before the program with instructions on scheduling your flight or rental car.
