Purpose
This activity is intended to enable non-clinical and administrative staff who are currently working at an HTC in non-patient-facing roles to develop knowledge about bleeding disorders and comprehensive care provided at HTCs.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this live activity, the participants should be better able to:
- Discuss the organization and funding of the U.S. Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) network and important partnerships within the network
- Describe the basics of how blood clots and the basic bleeding symptoms and types of treatment for hemophilia and von Willebrand disease
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of core members of the multidisciplinary bleeding disorders comprehensive care team
- Translate the concept of comprehensive care at Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs)
- Name the most common musculoskeletal complications of hemophilia
Target Audience
Non-clinical and administrative staff who currently are, and have been, working at a federally-recognized U.S. hemophilia treatment center network for at least 6 months. This program is targeting non-patient-facing staff such as patient intake/scheduling, insurance, billing, coding, administrative coordinators, and human resources, among many others.
Eligibility Criteria
To attend this activity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be employed at a U.S federally funded HTC for a recommended six (6) months to one (1) year.
- Obtain approval to attend from the Regional Administrator via automated process upon submission of application.
Cost and Travel Information
There is no registration fee to attend Basic Partners.
Travel and lodging for activity participants are made possible by an at-will contribution from the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center.
Once registered, you will be contacted approximately 4 weeks before the activity with instructions on scheduling your flight or rental car.
